A Monkey and A Miracle
Hello friends, I am Hanuman, a Bonnet Macaque (one of the monkey species). Do you know how I got this name? This name was courtesy PfA Bangalore as the last ray of hope for me. You must be wondering why so? I am a miracle and thanks to the love, care, and attention at PfA, I have been blessed with a second life.
6 months back, while chasing my companions on NICE road (which used to be my home), due to excitement I missed the coming of a speeding vehicle towards me and I met with an accident that almost took my life. I lay unconscious bleeding to death. I was fortunate to be rescued by the god sent angels, team PfA who took me to their hospital.
I was in a comatose condition, had an intracranial head injury, feeble heartbeat, and absolutely no movement. I continued to show no signs of improvement despite their best efforts and treatments which included shock therapy, advance resuscitation procedure, and was kept in an oxygen tent with other animal patients. I was despondent and lifeless for almost 3-4 days.
It is a saying when you have given up on all hopes, it is then when God shows His miracles and presence. I was named Hanuman as a last ray of hope. 36 hours later, my body responded with feeble activities, there was an increase in my body temperature and I moved my limbs slightly. Something no one expected would happen. It was clearly a miracle.
I was showered with love and care apart from the treatments that helped me to recover fully after three weeks. However, due to a nerve cut during the accident, I have paralyses in my forelimb. So, it is quite evident that I will not be able to survive in my natural habitat. I am extremely overwhelmed as PfA has provided me with shelter at their campus just like other disabled primates. Here I roam around freely and interact with other survivors. I am rehabilitating with my fellow pals at their primate orphanage.
I really enjoy my time, residing at PfA and mingling with my fellow beings and my God sent Angels. I have even learned how to open the water tap in the sink when I am thirsty but still cannot figure out how to close it. I am ever so grateful to PfA Bangalore for not only saving my life but also providing me with a safe and happy home.

Heart touching Tale of Hanuman , our dear friend. Your writing really brings forward the emotional connect we all have with monkeys. Well written as the mouthpiece of the affected monkey. I always wish if God made the animals , birds also to speak.
